Nicolas Cage is the one and only Nicolas Cage. He’ll never let it go. The movie star is seen trying to escape a mob boss in the Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Nicolas Cage is his number one fan.
Nic Cage is a generational actor who is quite controversial. Although his acting style may not be controversial, it is certainly one of a kind. Cage is perhaps the most famous actor in showbusiness. His performances can be hammered up to 11. Some will argue that Cage is not a good actor. Others may see it in a different way.
Cage appears to be rebounding after some setbacks such as owing the IRS 6.3 Million dollars in property taxes, and getting a divorce notice from his fifth spouse. Cage filmed four movies a calendar year to help him get out of debt and avoid bankruptcy. Some of them were direct to DVD, but the actor said that he didn’t phone in his performances in interviews with GQ.
Nicolas Cage has gained a lot of fans-his Reddit AMA, (Ask Me Anything) generated more questions than former President Barack Obama’s-and director/writer duo Tom Gormican & Kevin Etten appear only to be two. Cage was the only potential actor in the script. The script was marketed to studios by the two of them, and Lionsgate purchased it without asking Cage.
Cage was initially hesitant but eventually accepted the film. It is a celebration of his career. Cage plays a much more exaggerated version of himself who struggles with his personal problems before accepting a one-million-dollar deal to perform at a Croatian superfan’s birthday party. Pedro Pascal plays the role of the superfan. The CIA later discovers that he is a drug kingpin. Cage is recruited by the CIA to kill Pascal to his dismay.
Nicolas Cage‘s life in real life isn’t depicted in this movie. Cage doesn’t actually have a daughter. There is, however, a subplot where Cage tries to rekindle his relationship with his daughter.
If the trailer is any indication the film shares some similarities with real life. It lists movies Cage has appeared in, and even features a younger Cage. Verge reports that Cage approached director Tom Gormican with an idea for the film. Gormican wanted to French-smooth another version of himself.
The film currently holds a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Cage appears to be very proud of his film and has been re-invigorated by dramatic acting. Cage mentioned that he wants to do a musical after the film’s premiere. Whatever the next step, we are on board. We are at least certain it will be fun.
